TITAN 29” Large Suitcase by Highland Tactical Review
Quality luggage is paramount when traveling. The TITAN 29” suitcase is rugged and large enough for most adventures. After several trips, we assessed the Highland Tactical TITAN 29” in this review.
Highland Tactical
We’ve had a chance to look at a fair amount of Highland Tactical’s products and we generally love them. Previously we reviewed the smaller, ARMOR 21” Carry-on Suitcase. We’ve also looked at the Foxtrot Backpack and Vanquish Range Bag.
The company offers an array of bags, backpacks, luggage, and they’ve recently launched an outdoor line. The new bags cater to the needs of the outdoor enthusiast rather than the tactical crowd.
The TITAN 29”
This suitcase is a behemoth. We’ve been using it for almost a year now for various trips and have had no issues with it so far.
A hard, ABS, shell exterior will protect whatever you put inside.
If you need to pack away a fair amount of stuff on your next adventure, the TITAN 29” rollaboard will probably be able to help you out and then some. With Internal dimensions of 29″ (H) x 19″ (W) x 12.5″ (D), there’s plenty of room for whatever you might be bringing on your next trip. The suitcase is expandable too, giving you 25% more room.
Internal areas are segregated via a zippered compartment. This makes packing and then living out of the TITAN pain free. We also use packing cubes when traveling to help stay organized.
The suitcase is a spinner design with a retractable push-button handle. Navigating airports and other transportation hubs is easy with the TITAN.
The TITAN and we
We’ve loved the TITAN 29” suitcase. There’s one big issue we have had with it though…It can be too big! That’s not to say the unit is unmanageable — not at all. But rather, it’s easy to overpack this suitcase and end up over airline weight limits. On more than one occasion we’ve had to deploy smaller bug out bags from the suitcase in order to pull stuff out to carry-on a plane.
Some trips
Our first adventure with the TITAN 29” suitcase was out to the Gun Rights Policy Conference in 2024. We slammed the case up with four day’s worth of clothing and essentials. No problem. On the way back with some swag and souvenirs? I had to pull stuff out curbside at the airport.
Another trip was from the North-East down to Florida by vehicle. Slammed it full, no issues. Not having a weight restriction made the suitcase an asset.
Then there was Vegas in 2025. The National Shooting Sports Foundation SHOT Show®. The normally under-a-week trip was actually a 10-day extravaganza for me. I stayed after the show to get some vacationing in. Packing for that long, I was right at the weight limit and I had co-travelers who met me halfway through the trip that brought even more stuff, just in case. Forget about the swag, we had all kinds of carry-ons on our way back from Sin City. SAR bags anyone?
Overall experience
This suitcase has been on several work and recreation trips the last 11 months and it has not quit. A few extra road trips, a cruise and more flights were sprinkled in between those travel experiences, and the TITAN 29” has delivered each and every time.
Again, the big downfall? You can overpack it easily.
The only negative we had is the zipper skipped once on us. So pay careful attention that you’re not overstuffing the unit and ensure that the zippers are completely zippered/not stressed. You don’t want to end up being that guy at the airport whose stuff is coming out in random bins because your bag puked all over the place.
The zipper only skipped on us once, with the bag opening as I was putting it into the back of a van. Was it user error? Well, I certainly wasn’t paying attention if that got past me. But it only happened once and it hasn’t happened since. For good measure I just make sure I run the zippers all the way in both direction — as I do with all luggage.
The quick and dirty
Pluses: Big. Like BIG. Can hold a lot of stuff. Easy to handle. Rugged ABS construction. Spinner design. Affordable.
Minuses: BIG. Can over pack it easily.
There might be some bias here because we’ve been working with Highland Tactical for so long and we’ve loved all the products they’ve sent us. But, that does not change the fact that this suitcase is a winner. We tell it like it is and so far we’re overjoyed with our experience with the TITAN 29”.
